Bike Trek to Shaker Village

The Bike Trek to Shaker Village is a 31-year-old American Lung Association tradition; a fundraiser aimed at combatting the ravages of lung disease.  Trekkers have a heart for that mission first and foremost!

The Bike Trek to Shaker Village offers three routes to accommodate ability levels ranging from experienced bikers (32 miles), to real cycling enthusiasts (62 miles), to extreme riders (100 miles and a 5,500-foot elevation gain).

All three routes begin and end in Shaker Village and lead through the rolling hills of Central Kentucky. At the Bike Trek to Shaker Village, it’s what we do. This is what makes the Trek different, better, special!

If you’re looking for a great ride with an incomparable experience at the end, look no further. Ride through the rolling hills of Central Kentucky, enjoy the “Bites, Beer, and Bourbon Big Bash” cookout under the stars, and then spend the night in gorgeous, historic Shaker Village. If you prefer a multiple-day event, you may even choose to arrive a day early or stay a day later on your own and ride with friends.

If your schedule is too busy to accommodate the full experience, we’d love to have you just ride and stay for dinner, or ride only.

If you’re an extreme cyclist looking for a ride that will test your grit, try the “Hillacious Hundred.” With 100 miles and a 5,500-foot elevation gain, this ride will definitely take your breath away. No worries if that route isn’t for you. Choose either the 62-mile Metric Century or the 32-mile intermediate route.

The bottom line is that no matter how you choose to participate, we have a plan sure to please!

We’ve even created a special surprise for the team that recruits the most NEW Trekkers.. Did we say “team?” You can surely register as an individual, but we’ve found being part of a team maximizes the FUN in fundraising to beat lung disease … because, at the end of the day, Trekkers ride to save lives.

Will the ride be supported?

Absolutely! There will be rest stops, SAG vehicles and mechanic vehicles on every route.
