Bike the West and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invite you to participate in the America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride -- Lake Tahoe, one of the most scenic and awe-inspiring rides you will ever experience. Spectacular scenery, clean mountain air, great food and fully supported by experienced ride organizers makes this ride a ‘must do’ for any avid recreational bicyclist.

Registration opens January 1.

Bike the West is pleased to announce that this year’s event will be hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Lake Tahoe.

The ride is proud to be the century selected by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training Program where, over the past 14 years, over 19,500 team members have raised over $65.8 Million to help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for their patients and families.

The 72-mile America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride circumnavigates the highways clockwise around Lake Tahoe in both Nevada and California. It includes a challenging 800 foot climb to a rest stop overlooking Emerald Bay and a 1,000 foot climb to Spooner Junction. There are also many short rolling ascents and descents totaling over 4,024 vertical feet of elevation gain! The altitude ranges between 6,300 feet and 7,100 feet above sea level and the ride is recommended for conditioned recreational bicyclist, not for beginners.

For the more conditioned bicyclist and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of America’s “Team In Training” participants, a full 100-mile Century is offered adding an out and back on Highway 89/ Bike Trail to visit historic Truckee, California, before continuing around Lake Tahoe.  This century option adds approximately 600 more vertical feet of elevation gain (4924 vertical feet).

Rest stops with a great selection of food and beverages are offered overlooking Emerald Bay, Homewood Mountain Resort, in Truckee (for Century riders), Kings Beach (Lunch), and Water Stop at Half Spooner and at Spooner Junction. Drop bags will be provided at the first three rest stops if you chose to discard clothing.

Northbound Highway 89 (Emerald Bay Road) will be closed from 6:30am to 8:30am, to through traffic allowing only registered participants on the course.

We are pleased to bring back and offer our boat cruise – 35 Mile ride offering a shorter ride distance option… Enjoy a continental breakfast & site-seeing cruise on the Tahoe Paradise, across the lake, de-boarding at Garwood’s Pier in Carnelian Bay to ride the remaining 35 miles back to the finish line. (Limited to 65 bicyclists, only).

The ride features an After Ride Pool Party with a delicious meal and live band with Deep Fryed Mojo offered in the Finish Line at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Pool. This is included with your entry fees.
