Gran Fondo Cedar Valley

Join us at the 4th annual GRAN FONDO CEDAR VALLEY!  

This year, we're again offering the 100 mile "Gran" as well as the shorter (50 mile) "Medio" Fondo.

The block party (FondoFest) is free and open to the public! The party runs from 12:00pm-9:00pm on Main Street in Downtown Cedar Falls. Main Street will be closed from 1st to 4th Street. SingleSpeed Brewery beers and food from downtown restaurants will be available on the street. Come down and enjoy good beer, good food, and good music on the Parkade!

Join us as we depart from Downtown Cedar Falls, IA and travel to surrounding communities including: Denver, Dunkerton, Evansdale, Waterloo, Hudson, Reinbeck, Dike and New Hartford before returning to Downtown Cedar Falls for Fondo Fest!

(March: We are currently working with county officials to finalize the route for Gran Fondo Cedar Valley 2018. We anticipate the 100 mile and 50 mile routes will be similar to the routes used in 2017. Riders will ride on the road the majority of the route, but will ride trail in heavy traffic areas near Waterloo.)

Riding, but not racing? Stop in and join the fun at the halfway party at mile 44 at Singlespeed in Downtown Waterloo! Enjoy food and beverage in the outdoor beer garden before you takle the second half of the Gran Fondo!

Gran Fondo Cedar Valley can be best described as a "semi-supported" ride.  A SAG rider on a bicycle will be riding behind the official Fondo riders. If you need basic support (tubes, air, etc), he will be available to assist you at the next rest stop. 

Bike Techs from Scheels will be available to help all riders at the 1/2 way stop at SingleSpeed Brewery in Waterloo. There will also be a full service bike tech on-call throughout the day.

Stops
There will be 5 official rest stops. All stops will have water, Gatorade, bananas, and granola bars.

Swag Bags

Every rider registered for Gran Fondo Cedar Valley will receive a swag bag at packet pick-up. Swag bags include beer tickets, a $10 food voucher to be used at Fondo Fest, a sling bag, water bottle, coupons to use Downtown Cedar Falls, and other freebies!

Medals

Every rider that registers for and completes the Gran Fondo Cedar Valley 100 mile course will receive a custom finisher's medal. The 2018 finishers medal features the Gran Fondo Cedar Valley logo with a custom 2018 Gran Fondo Cedar Valley ribbon.
