Welcome to T-town, Home of the hottest ride in the South!

First run in 2003, the Hot Hundred is a premier cycling event for all ages and experience levels. Proceeds benefit the Tuscaloosa Mental Health Alliance and support individuals and families facing the challenges of mental illness.

We believe once you ride Hot Hundred, you'll agree there is none better! Whether you're up for a leisurely 29-mile tour or a demanding 103-mile century experience, we've got you covered with on-route SAG and mechanic support, fully stocked rest stops, friendly volunteers, onsite sports trainers, a delicious post-ride meal and access to the UA Outdoor Pool complex for showers and swimming!

Longer-distance cyclists will travel through the rolling hills of rural West Central Alabama, enjoying the remote and lightly traveled back-roads of Greene County. Ride through small communities with quaint names like Romulus, Jena, Mantua, Lewiston, Snoddy, and Ralph.

Riding back to campus, no matter what distance you’ve chosen, will bring you down Jack Warner Parkway with beautiful views of Tuscaloosa’s Riverwalk Park and the Black Warrior River.

Over 20 volunteer ham radio operators stage on the route, in SAG vehicles and at aid stations to assist with communications.  How will you know our support vehicles?  There’s no missing them since they all have flashing amber lights atop their cars and trucks!

You will also see our Tuscaloosa Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, and Alabama State Troopers on the road watching out for you.

Having mechanical issues? Flag us down and get some help from our VeloCity Pro Cycle mechanics.  We enjoy awesome support from our Tuscaloosa community!

The Hot Hundred is part of the Alabama Backroads Century Series!

Your ride will begin with a cruise through the beautiful University of Alabama campus…

Denny Chimes, an enduring symbol of Alabama’s first university, was erected in 1929 to honor President George H. Denny, under whose leadership The University of Alabama gained national prominence. Around the base of the tower is the Alabama football captains’ walk of fame, which bears hand and foot impressions of each captain from Crimson Tide teams dating back to the 1940s.

Bryant-Denny Stadium is the on-campus home of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, winners of 15 national championships.  The stadium has a seating capacity of 101,000.

Campus Police will escort you through campus and hand off to The City of Tuscaloosa Police for escort down University Blvd., past Capitol Park, and out to Sanders Ferry Rd.  These first dozen miles offer a flat warm-up for a century ride…or a scenic out-and-back of 25 miles, followed by an afternoon at the Rec Center pool.
