The Javelina Chase is an annual event that draws competitive and non-competitive cyclists to the small Southeastern Arizona town of Duncan, AZ (population 800). Overseen by a volunteer committee and guided by USA Cycling the Javelina Chase has grown in each of its 4 years from 24 participants in 2014 to over 250 in 2017.

The goal of the Javelina Chase is to bring an exciting cycling event to Duncan and Greenlee County which enhances cycling and its associated health, fun and environmental benefits and to provide funds for a scholarship for two graduating Greenlee County seniors.

The Javelina Chase hosts both USA Cycling sanctioned road races and separate gran and mini fondos over the same courses.

The road races are 72, 50 and 25 miles in length. The gran fondo starts on the 72 mile course five minutes after the formal race with the mini fondo in the wake of the 25 mile race.

NEW for 2017 - "GHOST MINE RUMBLE" - 2  DIRT ROAD 20 & 60 mile races!

The organizer invites you to come to Duncan, Arizona, during the most beautiful time of the year—SPRING POPPY SEASON. If it is a good poppy year you will ride amongst  fields of white, purple, and orange wildflowers and be in awe of your surroundings.   Visit Duncan and step back into a time when traveling across the country was an adventure, not a high-speed race along an interstate.
