The Alpine Loop – The Premiere Route for Jeremiah Bishop’s Gran Fondo

“One wicked route!” – Jeremiah Bishop
Winding Climbs, Magnificent Scenery, Thrilling Descents:
The Most Challenging and Adventurous Gran Fondo in the United States!

The route begins in Harrisonburg, Virginia and covers approximately 107 miles, featuring over 11,000 feet of climbing.
While the Alpine Loop is a challenge, it’s an adventure suitable for VERY fit cycling enthusiasts. You don’t need to be a racer to tackle these mountains! In fact, well prepared riders who set a brisk steady pace and take full advantage of the rest station amenities are sure to reach the Finish Line Festival with smiles! The Alpine Loop features two dirt/gravel climbs. There are two timed KOM/QOM sections.

Early registration discounts are available with prices rising as the event gets closer.

The Shenandoah Mountain Century offers an option for riders who want to take on 100 miles including two significant all-paved climbs over Shenandoah Mountain. Built from the Shenandoah Mountain Adventure route, with the addition of some of the best back roads and rolling hills alongside the George Washington National Forest, to create a mountainous 100-mile adventure.

The Shenandoah Mountain Adventure is a great challenge on all-paved roads! Riders compete in the KOM on the Shenandoah Mountain climb on Virginia Route 33; and are treated to the newly paved surface snaking up Moyer’s Gap Road on the western side of Shenandoah Mountain.

The Mt Solon Metric Century features 62.5 miles of scenic Shenandoah Valley riding, including the beautiful backroads and nearly-secret riverside roads beyond Mt Solon. The total of 3,743 feet of climbing are spread out over the rolling Valley roads.

The Valley View Challenge has proved popular. Riders have told us they are impressed with the relative challenge for a shorter distance; the climb on Mole Hill makes for a great adventure!
