Autumn has arrived. The morning air is crisp and the leaves are turning shades of gold and scarlet. Some of you are thinking of calling it a bicycling season and staring at the tube until next spring. But no!

On Sunday, Sept. 23, Cascade Bicycle Club presents the 25th Annual Kitsap Color Classic, our season finale. Pedal along the gorgeous Kitsap Peninsula and through some of the best riding country in the state! Friendly communities and terrific fall scenery make this a fun, must-do event. 

There are three different riding options for the event. Riders can choose the 25-, 39-, or 57- mile route. The 25-mile route heads from the Kingston Ferry up to Hansville with stunning views of Admiralty Inlet and the Puget Sound. The 39- mile route takes riders along Hood Canal and Liberty Bay as they pedal through Port Gamble, Poulsbo and Indianola. The 57- mile route is a loop that combines the two for an opportunity to enjoy both stunning routes.

These loops are great for recreational riders, yet can be challenging to ride hard and fast (yes, that means a few hills).

SAG cars are out on the Kitsap Color Classic route and are volunteer coordinated and staffed. They are available to help with minor mechanics or transport you to the next mechanic if your bike is beyond their ability of repair. They are also there to get you back to the ferry if you are unable to continue due to a non-serious injury or mechanical issue.
