The Marin Century offers six fully supported routes ranging from 30-200 miles and attracts over 2500 riders from the San Francisco Bay area and beyond.

Proceeds from the 56th Marin Century will support San Francisco Bay area youth athletics and bike advocacy. Marin Cyclists and the Marin Century are 100% volunteer (no paid employees). This is the longest running cycling event (we know of) in the United States.

At our event, you can look forward to:

  • One of the West Coast's most scenic and best-supported rides
  • Fantastic food at our rest stops
  • A hot post-ride feast at our celebratory expo
  • Routes marked by color-coded arrows
  • SAG support and assistance from the Marin Amateur Radio Club
  • CHP-patrolled course and assisted lane closures for rider safety
  • Water-resistant color map with turn-by-turn directions
  • A uniquely-designed water bottle

Detailed information about each route, including Ride with GPS links, will be available when the routes are finalized. All riders will receive a full-color water-resistant map of their route.

CHP officers will enforce temporary lane (not road) closures to help cyclists safely pass and share the road with other vehicles. These closures include:

  • Lucas Valley Road (westbound lane) from west of Westgate to Big Rock — 6:30–9:00 am
  • Pt. Reyes–Petaluma Road (northbound lane) from north of Nicasio Valley Road to the top of Rocky Hill — 7:30–10:00 am
