The Downriver Cycling Club tradition is to celebrate the advent of the cycling season by sponsoring the MGST on the first Sunday each May. DCC has organized this annual regional event on the first Sunday of May since 1984.

Up to 1,200 riders from southeast Michigan and beyond participate in this day-long supported tour through Huron-Clinton Metroparks and rural roads in southern Wayne and Monroe counties. Registration fee includes a complete all-you-can- eat pancake breakfast, plenty of homemade cookies, plus all the usual amenities. Specially-designed MGST commemorative t-shirts are available for pre-order up until April 24th.

Club members pitch in to help with the chores planning an event of this scope entails. Workers gather to plan and evaluate routes, mark the routes, order food, make sure cookies will be on hand and solicit day of event volunteers.

We offer our traditional (4) road route options that can be combined to total around 106 miles for the day. There's also the family-friendly 15-mile route through the parks. In addition, we will again be offering our 39 mile gravel grinder route out to Rolling Hills and back, where you can take in their single track and also Hewens Creek on the way by.
