The inaugural Salmon Cycling Classic is designed to put Wilsonville, outside Portland, on the map and there are plans to grow it into a multi-day attraction for tourists.

The inaugural Classic will include a Gran Fondo of about 100K and a Medio Fondo of about 50K. A Fondo is NOT a race! It involves all its riders simply heading out on a pre-designated course together — each one riding at his/her own pace.

The route includes gorgeous vistas and shaded, tree-lined narrow rural roads. All this being just a few miles from the turmoil of downtown Portland streets. For the hard-core bicyclist, the 100K includes around 5000 feet of elevation gain having gone up, over, and around Petes and Parret mountains.

Both the 100K and the 50K share the identical course over and around the first mountain,
and until it passes back through the City of Wilsonville where on the west side the 50K
turns back towards Memorial Park. The 100K goes on to include going up and around a
second mountain before returning to the park.

The routes roll by beautiful homes and country estates, peaceful equestrian fields and vineyards, and affords some stunning outlooks towards the surrounding broad, fertile valleys – and don’t forget some excellent views directly towards snow clad Mt. Hood.

We will have two break stops - one for everybody and one that the 100K riders will get after the 50K riders have turned back.

After all of your physical exertion, you will be rewarded with a genuine “Cedar Plank” Salmon Dinner with fresh strawberry shortcake for dessert, drinks, and more.

You will receive a ticket for the dinner in the packet with you check in the morning of the ride. You can purchase extra tickets for family/friends also on the web site when you register for the ride. Those tickets will also be in your packet. The general public is also invited to the dinner. They can purchase tickets the same way.

The first 250 registering and riding in either Fondo, will receive a “take home” of a genuine Salmon Medallion keepsake – specifically created for this inaugural event with recycled, crushed glass by a progra employing single moms.

Additionally, the first 100 registrants will have their names drawn for one of six OTTOLOCKS for Bicycles and Storage.

Registration (Ride, Dinner, & Medallion) after June 1 is $85.00
