The Gran Fondo courses of the Appalachian Classic have been designed to provide you with richly rewarding experiences that are both physical and emotional, set amid the beautiful landscapes upon which much of Victoriaville and its region’s reputation has been built.

Mile after mile, kilometre after kilometre, riders admire views that vanish over the horizon, rolling through valleys where sinuous meandering rivers run and through countless villages full of charm and colour.

Differing in their distances, technical difficulty and elevation profile, the courses of the Gran Fondo offer varying degrees of challenge, but all dressed in the same autumnal beauty. All routes end atop Mount Arthabaska, an area providing an experience which is as festive as it is a celebration of our sport. Add the invitingly-couponed fare of the Isle de Garde microbrewery, the carnivorous creations of the Ours Noir pub, the music of Vocelle and the Crashroad, plus hundreds of cheering spectators and it’s the perfect end-of-season party!

ALL-NEW “GOURMET EXPLORER” GRAN FONDO

Victoriaville and its region just overflows with charming, creative and passionate local producers, residents who’ve grown the reputation of the region to what it is today. And what better way to explore and enjoy the wealth of a region than on a bike? With that idea in mind, the Appalachian Classic introduces a unique cycling experience: a beautiful bike ride set with several ‘gourmet’ stations where you’ll discover some of the finest and most popular “terroir” delicacies of Victoriaville and its region.

Riders will also get to meet many of the producers in person, as well as a chance to purchase or order much of what’s offered to enjoy at home. Two distances are now available (50km and 70km). The course is 99% on asphalt and lighlty hilly… just enough to burn off some of those extra calories!

The Gran Fondo is run alongside professional and amateur road races.
