The history, charm, and ambiance of River Road, between Austin and San Antonio, provides the perfect setting for our bicycle classic events.

The first Tour de Gruene Titme Trials happened in 1984. Today, the trials and non-competitive tours still meander along the tree lined banks of the Guadalupe River and the enchanting limestone cliffs of the Balcones Fault.

Step back in time as you bask in the warm Texas sunshine all while riding through the heart of Texas - then enjoy the delicious post ride Lunch and fellowship at the Lazy L & L. Cap off your evening with dining and dancing to Bavarian entertainment at Wurstfest!

The Saturday Recreational Tours offer tour lengths of 14, 28, 36, 47, 55, and 65 miles.  They all take in the beautiful scenery along River Road through the Balcones Fault.

The longer routes continue through the Canyon Lake area climbing atop and across the dam and for 47m plus - continuing on across the devil’s backbone. There are rest stop stations set up around the courses with access to replenish your liquids, fuel your body, and toilet access before continuing along your ride.

With the exception of the 14 mile route, all routes are described as hilly and challenging -- most likely too challenging for the untrained and inexperienced rider. Experience and training are important for completion of the rides in order to finish in the time limits given for event support.
