Extra Information

We ride for Lainie Weade.  Compassionate, active and family-oriented are just a few of the words used to describe Lainie Weade.

Lainie, an avid cyclist and runner, saw the need for bicycling awareness in the community. She was also a visionary and keenly interested in the history of our area and served on the Board of the Stephens County Foundation.

In 2003, through the leadership of Lainie Weade the Tour de Tugaloo was born to raise funds for "Share the Road" signs, to promote cycling in the area, to advocate for routes connecting Georgia and South Carolina and to advance the mission of the Stephens County Foundation.

Lainie fought and lost a hard battle with cancer at the early age of 57. But her work will continue...her legacy will live on...and in her memory...WE RIDE
