Join us for a self-paced cycling event for all levels in the beautiful Eastern Panhandle! The CASA River Century offers routes for all ability levels- from families with children to recreational cyclists or serious cyclists who are looking for a training event early in the season.

Ride past century old homes, apple orchards, tree lined roads, the Potomac River and family farms.

We invite you to join us, and to help a great cause... CASA kids!

The century ride is fresh and filled with fantastic scenery and safety in mind. It is composed of two loops that return to the staging area at Shepherd University. The first loop is in Jefferson County and is 50.2 miles. Riders can expect to see views of the Potomac, peacocks, horse and goat farms, historic churches and homes on this rolling countryside. There are a few challenging hills to keep it interesting, but they come with great downhills and rest stops.

The 50.5 mile Berkeley loop is the last loop and contains new views for the rider. Enjoy the grand views of North Mountain and the Arden-Nollville area lined with orchards and fruit markets. Cross the Opequon Creek on historic stone bridges and glide past century old barns and farm land. Half Century riders can pick either loop.

CASA stands for the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program, which works with abused and neglected children after the child is removed from their home. Trained CASA volunteers work directly with the judge appointed to the child's case; as well as the child, their family, neighbors and school to recommend and find a safe and permanent home for the child.
