Darn Tough Ride

The 100 mile loop goes TWICE over Smuggler's Notch, 7300' elevation. Are you tough enough?

The Darn Tough Ride is a road cycling event held in Stowe, Vermont, annually on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Every year, hundreds of cycling enthusiasts and their friends and families gravitate to the picturesque New England village of Stowe to be a part of the Darn Tough Ride, the perfect cycling adventure, incorporating some of the most celebrated unique routes, challenging climbs, and exhilarating descents in Northern Vermont.

The King and Queen of the Mountain Competition, two timed hill climbs over Smugglers Notch offers an extra challenge for those seeking a little more out of their day. The best part, you get all this, and there is no fundraising needed!

The Darn Tough Ride is fully supported and we will do all that we can to see to your every need.  

• Generous goodie bag with souvenir tech event t-shirt, water bottle, Hammer Nutrition gels, mini Clif energy bars and plenty more.

• Free Continental breakfast at registration.
• Bike plate for all riders.
• Refreshments, including water and Hammer HEED, bagels, nuts, cookies, fresh fruit, treats, and gels at feed stations.

• Cabot Cheese, Vermont Smoke and Cure, Food Should Taste Good chips, Vermont Pure Water and Core Power recovery drink served during the day.
• Sanitary services on course.
• First Aid Emergency kits at aid stations.
• Basic mechanical repair kit at each of the aid stations (air, tubes, patch, tires, etc).
• Mobile teams to escort, offer mechanical assistance, sweep, and help as needed.
• Hill Climb Competition and KOM titles (100, 65 or 45 mile routes)
• Delicious BBQ dinner at the Commodores Inn following the ride. 12:30 to 3pm. $15 for non-riders.
• Outdoor and indoor pool, swimming pond, large sunny deck and field for your enjoyment throughout the day and after the ride. Some kayaks and canoes available, free, for your enjoyment.
• Live music by local DJ Rekkon.
• Local Long Trail beer poured in the beer tent, and other alcoholic beverages available (must be 21 years old).
