Extra Information
Parade lap/10K
All riders will start the ride on the stunning Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge which will be closed to all other traffic during the ceremonial parade lap. This is a unique opportunity to ride your bicycle across this scenic structure. Riders will cross the bridge into the Downtown Dallas area on cordoned roadways and then double back across the Continental Avenue Pedestrian Bridge to journey through the festival area prior to heading out on the levee system.
Please note that the levee system trails are primarily unpaved and composed of loose gravel. Be sure to ride a bicycle which can safely manuever in these conditions. Course marshals will be riding in conjuntion with participants to supply assitance when needed
Levee Laps - Choose your distance
Once the parade lap is completed the rest of the route will be made up entirely of the levee trails above and within the Trinity River Corridor. This will be an approximately 20 mile loop which returns to the staging/timing area at the completiion of each circuit. Riders are welcome to ride only 1 lap if they choose or as many as 3 laps to break the 100 Kilometer distance mark.
You are not alone
The route will be completely marked with distinctive signage including directional arrows for every turn. In addition to support at the main staging/timing area there will be on course aid station manned by professional bike mechanics which will also have snacks and drinks available. Roaming course marshals will be riding along with each group to offer any support that's needed along the way. And realistically, you are never more than 5 minutes from the main roads of Dallas.
