Loop Sportive

Launched in 2018, the Loop Sportive returns for a second edition this October. 

The flat and fast course features a lap of Carlingford Lough, that sees cyclists cross between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland via the Scenic Carlingford Ferry.

Event HQ is the Albert Basin, Newry. The 62km route follows the coastline from Newry to Greenore through the picturesque villages of Omeath and Carlingford, before catching the ferry from Greenore in the Republich of Ireland to Greencastle, in the North. 

Once back on the UK - no passports needed, yet! - cyclists will continue their coastal route around the outskirts of Kilkeel, through Rostrevor and Warrenpoint before finishing in Newry.

Entry includes a fully signed route, an event jersey, passage on the Carlingford Scenic Ferry, finishers medals, mobile mechanic and beer from local brewers Mourne Mountain Brewery.
