Where Everything Matters, And Nothing Is Important

JOIN THE ADVENTURE

It's not about racing.  It's about challenging the human spirit.

In every way, the Rasputitsa Spring Classic is a journey.  A journey that is traveled regardless of roads, of weather, of terrain.  A journey that ends in camaraderie.  We are united by one commonality: the road is our home.

Rasputitsa is Russian for the mud season when roads become difficult to traverse. The Rasputitsa is a psychotic 45 mile, insane, drop to your knees and cry sufferfest with an absurdly section so difficult that people won't believe your stories called Cyberia.

With a field limit of 1,000 riders, this 40 mile unsanctioned gravel road race covers some of the most cold and barren landscapes of Vermont.

Welcome to Cyberia

Read a ride report.

In 2013, two friends (Anthony Moccia and Heidi Myers) decided to create a gravel road race in the most untouched, remote section on Vermont known as the Northeast Kingdom.  It was really that simple.  What we established was one of the best Vermont Gravel Road Races. We created an unsanctioned gravel road race that really challenges the human spirit and strength regardless of the level of rider.  ?

We did this because we love bikes, and the race is nothing more than that passion.  We are unsanctioned. No license.  No prize purse.  Have a bike and the will to race and you are a match for our races.  We attract road, cyclocross, singlespeed, mountain bike, tandem, and fatbikes.  But we are a race.  We are timed.  We have podiums.  And the winners have bragging rights.

We created this race to grow cycling.  All profits go to Little Bellas and JAM Fund Cycling.  Both non-profit organizations work in the different ways to get more kids on bikes.

More than anything we care about our racers.  We are at the finish line shaking hands.  We are constantly seeking their advice and input.  We ride with our racers.  We are small town, and we like it that way.

Spring in Vermont

The beauty of this race is spring in Vermont really translates to: you never know what you're going to get.

Tire selection and bike selection for that matter remain questions until the bitter end.  We've seen temperatures in the 60s.  We've seen -10 degrees.

But regardless of the weather, we show you a good time with a huge offering of food, drink, and live music at the finish line.
