Tour de Gap

Come join us for the 36th Annual Tour de Gap! It's a great ride for a great cause. All proceeds from this event benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Abilene. Ride through the rolling hills around Buffalo Gap, TX (just a few minutes south of Abilene), relax at the pavilion under the cool shade of the oak trees and enjoy the food trucks and raffles.

Leaving from the centuries-old oak trees at the Settlers Reunion Grounds at Buffalo Gap, Texas, we’ll have a variety of routes around the beautiful Callahan Divide, which is the very northern part of the Texas Hill Country.

As always the fourth weekend in July. Tour de Gap offers rides for beginners to competitive racers. Many use it as prep for HH100 or other events, long or short. 

There are three race distances to choose from Saturday: 11 miles, 27 miles and 100K. Each distance will have a raffle held at the end of their ride. The top three finishers in each age-category in the 100K will be given prizes.

Riders age 14 and under ride free with a paying adult in the 11 mile and 27 mile distances! They do still need to register, though.

On Sunday morning we are again having the Steamboat Challenge Time Trial — a 7.2 mile individual timed hill climb up Steamboat Mountain, near Buffalo Gap. This year we’ll have a finish line celebration on the top of the mesa east of Buffalo Gap. ($15 with a Saturday registration or $25)
