Tour de Lure

The Dewey Hughes Memorial Bike Ride

The Tour de Lure is a 71 mile charity bike ride in Western North Carolina that winds through McDowell County, up Stone Mountain, through Chimney Rock and around Lake Lure before heading back to McDowell County via the Assault on Mt. Mitchell route with a total of 5600’ of ascension.

The event also includes a shorter 23 mile Fun Ride which is great for those new to cycling. Riders will enjoy the well-marked course, few turns, ride support, post-ride lunch and shower facilities.  

This year, we are excited to include the Indoor Tour de Lure as a ride option. The indoor event is limited to 20 participants and will feature a video of the Tour de Lure route projected on a screen to give you the outdoor experience on an indoor bike!
